Jewish world mourns composer Marvin Hamlisch, who died yesterday

In Feb 2011, as part of an intimate meeting with Mark S. Golub, president of Shalom TV and host of the network’s signature talk show, “L’Chayim,” Hamlisch sat at his piano and recreated his composing the haunting title song of the Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford classic, “The Way We Were.”

The American Jewish composer also spoke about his Jewish childhood and background and the influence of Jewish music on his work. You can watch an excerpt from the interview in the player below.
