JFCS seeking area teens to submit contest videos

JFCS wants to hear from you! The agency is currently taking submissions for the 2017 Teen Video Contest—“Volunteering from a Teenage Perspective.” The challenge: Create a short video (3-5 minutes in length) about what volunteering means to you.

All students grades 8-11 are eligible to participate. First prize winner receives a Canon EOS Rebel T5 Camera. Second prize winner receives a Polaroid Pogo Instant Digital Camera. The entry must be the original work of the student(s), up to three people if a group. Only one entry per person or group. Finished submission has to be under 1.5 GB in size and in the following formats: .MP4 .AVI .MOV .MPG .MPG2 .MPEG2 .WMV. All entries must be successfully uploaded by midnight on Sunday Apr. 2, 2017, EST.

Winners will be notified by Apr. 24. Winners and other notable entries may be asked to showcase their videos at an evening reception on Thursday, Apr. 27, and/or at the JFCS Annual Meeting & Recognition of Board, Staff & Volunteers on Thursday, May 11. Winning videos will be selected based on originality, message content, and overall video quality. All entries become property of JFCS.
